The aspen have all turned gold in the last month. This is what I see on my 4 mile drive home from work to our new place in Vail. I'm realizing that natural beauty keeps me content and peaceful. And awestruck. The changing weather reminds me of my mortality and somehow that makes me excited!
Two weekends ago Dave and I made the move to a cabin in Vail. It's a cozy place, we're on the first story of a house with a view of the mountains at each window. The place was a disaster the day we moved in and we've been cleaning carpets, walls, shelves blahblahblah for two weeks. The dirt was almost more than I could take. His parents visited us the following weekend and pitched in like their lives depended on it, Dave's Dad Ron on his knees with cleanser and a toothbrush, and his mom Janet with her positive boundless energy cleaning everything in site. More on this later. . .I'll post before and after photos when the paint's dry.
But right now I'm posting before I go pack for Vegas. I couldn't think of a better time for us to be treated and pampered at the Bellagio and an Eagles concert with a bunch of Dave's colleagues. No dirt there!
